Hi there! I’m Benedetta Triulzi. In 2018, I co-founded Mangiaparole to bring my dream to life. Drawing from my experience in the education field, I wanted to create an innovative and engaging learning environment for Italian Learners. Alongside my colleague, Anita Lorenzotti, who serves as both a Teacher and the School Director, we founded Mangiaparole and developed the course IDL – Italian Driver’s License.

I graduated in Literature and Philosophy with honors at the Sapienza University of Rome. I trained as a psycho-pedagogical social consultant and for over 20 years I have been teaching Italian as a second language. I worked as a L2 Italian teacher in several elementary public schools in the suburbs of Rome. I specialized in teaching Italian as a second language for adults at the Torre di Babele – Language Study Link school, where I worked both as an Italian teacher and a training tutor. I am a certified CELI (Certificate of Knowledge of Italian Language) teacher from the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

In 2008 I obtained the II level Certificate of Competence in Teaching Italian to Foreigners (DITALS) from the University for Foreigners of Siena. I have extensive experience teaching Italian to employees working for businesses, international organizations (FAO and IFAD) and Embassies. I also worked as a tutor at the University of Studies Guglielmo Marconi in Rome. In 2018 I was in charge of coordinating and teaching L2 courses at the Extraordinary Reception Center of Ciampino.

In my free time, I volunteer at la Ronda della Solidarietà ODV – a local non profit organization that helps homeless get off the streets and serves meals all year around in the capital. In addition, I carry out secretarial activities in the Board of Directors.

My favorite Italian dish is: spaghetti al pomodoro (spaghetti with tomato sauce)!

Hobbies: I play tennis and I love listening to podcasts.
