Ciao a tutti! I’m Fabiola. I live in Rome, but I am originally from the charming Basilicata, a small Italian region in the South of Italy rich in history and famous for its distinctive Sassi di Matera, a UNESCO heritage site in 1993.

After graduating in Modern Philology from the University Federico II in Naples, I started my career teaching Italian as a second language. This has been my job for more than 10 years. I obtained the DITALS II level certification from the University for Foreigners in Siena and I’m a CELI examiner since 2015.

I’m very passionate about the Italian language and literature. I believe that teaching is my tool to build bridges between diverse cultures. In class I have a dynamic teaching approach for all levels. I use the communicative method with teaching materials based on everyday practical life.

I’m excited to collaborate with Mangiaparole, where I help pursue the mission of spreading the beauty of the Italian language and culture worldwide. Students often describe me as a sociable and patient person. I love welcoming people from all over the world. I’ve had significant teaching experiences with migrants, aiming to provide linguistic and cultural support to those starting anew in a new country.

Since last January, I teach the Italian course for the driving license (IDL). Through this course I use my skills to break down the technical terminology of the theory exam which can be challenging even for Italians themselves! Additionally, I teach Italian at religious institutes in the Capital, further enriching my experiences and opening new possibilities in this field.

I am very happy to continue this journey and share my passion for Italy with my students and all those who wish to learn our beautiful language and immerse themselves in our rich culture!

In my free time, I love to take long walks through the streets of Rome and its large parks, together with my two daughters.

I love all Italian cuisine, especially Neapolitan pizza!
