WHAT IS THE ITALIAN FOR DRIVER’S LICENSE (IDL) COURSE CREATED BY MANGIAPAROLE?

The IDL course supports foreign adults that are studying to take the theory exam in Italian. The course was designed by our expert teachers, Benedetta Triulzi and Anita Lorenzotti to help their students who failed the theory test due to language barriers.

If you are a foreigner and have a basic knowledge of the Italian language, with this course you will receive the support necessary to improve your language skills, memorize the hard vocabulary and the confusing terminology of the driving manual.

Don’t be discouraged. We are here to give you all the support you need to pass the theory exam!

The IDL course is encouraging, dynamic and helpful. It gives you the opportunity to be in a live Italian class with a teacher, mingle with your international classmates – who are in the same situation – and ask questions! This is a quality course where classes are made up of a small group of 4 to 6 students.

HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO PASS THE DRIVING THEORY EXAM?

We can say that it is quite difficult. This is why, to enroll in the IDL course, we require students to have the Italian A2 level – of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) – to attend the class.

WHAT IF MY LICENSE WAS ISSUED BY A NON-EU COUNTRY?

Please check here if the country you come from has a recognition agreement with Italy. In that case, you can easly convert it at your local Italian DMV (ufficio della motorizzazione civile – UMC). Otherwise, if your country does not have an agreement, during the first year of residence in Italy you will be able to drive with your international license. But afterwards you must take the theory test and the driving exam in Italian.

HOW CAN I LEARN ITALIAN FAST?

According to our experience, unfortunatelly there is no fast way to learn italian. But there is an effective way! Italians like to say: “Who goes slow and steady wins!” (Chi va piano va sano e va lontano). This means that slow, productive progress leads to success, both when it comes to learning a language and learning to drive. If you need your Italian driving license and want to overcome the language barrier, if you feel discouraged, worried and overwhelmed, this Italian course is for you!

IN WHICH LANGUAGES CAN I TAKE THE THEORY EXAM FOR THE ITALIAN DRIVING LICENSE (PATENTE B)?

Depending on the region you live in, the theory exam can be taken not only in Italian but also in French and German, upon request, but unfortunately not in English.

If you live in Italy or plan to move and want to drive legally, you need to get an Italian driving license. If your license was issued by one of the European Union countries, that’s no problem. The license is the same and you don’t need to convert it or take any exam.
