Hi everyone, my name is Silvano.I graduated in Oriental Languages and Civilizations, with a focus on Japanese, from La Sapienza – University of Rome for my Bachelor’s degree. I also completed a Master’s in Italian Language Teaching for Foreigners at UNISTRASI – University for Foreigners of Siena.
I received my training at the Torre di Babele school in Rome and obtained a Level II DITALS certification from the University for Foreigners of Siena. I’m certified as a CILS (Certification of Italian as a Foreign Language) and PLIDA (Dante Alighieri Italian Language Project) examiner.
Over the years, I’ve gained experience in teaching Italian to foreigners of all ages and at all levels according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
I’ve taught Italian at prestigious embassies, convents, and religious congregations in Rome. Some of my students learn Italian to enhance their communication needs in various fields, such as institutional, tourism, commerce, or religious. Others are learning Italian because they are relocating to Italy and wish to integrate into our society. I enjoy focusing my lessons on spoken Italian to help those who need to make phone calls, handle bureaucratic procedures, and engage in everyday conversations.
The diversity in my students’ communicative needs is one of the most stimulating aspects of my job as an Italian teacher!
In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking in the mountains, and exploring new landscapes. Whenever I have the opportunity, I love embarking on journeys near and far to discover new cultures and savor new culinary delights.
As for my favorite Italian dish, I love first courses, especially all kinds of risotto and pasta!
